Hatch managed the social media communication for the annual Vinpro Information Day again this year. With a record number of delegates, producers, suppliers, industry partners and media one could sense the renewed energy. Very encouraging was the fact that, despite a challenging 2018, overall wine sales increased by 4%.
An interesting takeout from the day was the fact that consumers are becoming more health conscious. This is resulting in more and more producers experimenting with de-alcoholised and lower alcohol wines. Moreover, the price of bottled wine is steadily increasing. Overall, consumers are consuming less but are prepared to pay more for a good bottle of wine.
